Description
10/4/24 - This is a good example of a WW2 US Navy practice bomb. These hollow metal bombs often had a device inside them that in effect was a smoke bomb. This smoke allowed the bomber crews and observers to see and judge how accurate the crew of the plane were at hitting their targets. This example is in good condition, with only a one area where oxidation has effected the item. The practice bomb still has "170133-B-1" casted into the side of it, as well as a US and Anchor stamped above for the Navy. Both of these markings are still strong and easily recognizable. The tail fins on this practice bomb are still straight and do not have any bends in them.Specifications
