Description

11/19/24 - This is a great example of a rare silver coin created to commemorate the Anschluss (Annexation) of Austria in 1938. The main face of this coin features the side profile of Adolf Hitler, with the text "Der Einer und Fuhrer Aller Deustchen". Which translates too, "The One and Leader of all Germans". The obverse of this coin features the Inn River Bridge between Germany and Austria, with the Austrian eagle above with the swastika on its chest, symbolizing the unification of Austria and Nazi Germany. The obverse also has "Die Ostmark ist Heimgekehrt 13.3.1938", which translates to "Austria returned home, March 13, 1938". The coin itself is in great shape and the stampings on both sides remain strong and easily recognizable. The coin is made of silver, and weighs 16.08 grams, or 0.567 oz. The coin comes in a nice, post war hard plastic case.
