Description

8/30/19 - This is a WW2 era, OSS expandable steel spring baton with a leather handle and rope lanyard. The lanyard looks old and has yellowed with age. The ends have tape that also appears aged / feels old. The metal handle is about 6 inches with 0.2 inches of a rounded "pommel". Extending from the handle is a metal tip (when collapsed) is 1/2 inch. When extended, the coiled metal shaft is approx. 9.25 inches. There's some minor thinning of the finish on the handle, but otherwise there's minimal wear on this piece. Sold to us as part of a collection; obtained from a family member who was a Naval Intelligence officer who worked with the OSS during WW2.
