Description

12/23/24 - This is a a great example of a WW2 German RADwJ Personal Service Brooch. The RADwJ was the Women's auxiliary to the Men's RAD, in Nazi Germany. It was established in 1933 by the Nazi Party in order to help turn around Germany from the great depression and employed young Women in various roles within the German economy, as well as to indoctrinate these women into the Nazi Ideology. These brooches came in three variations to denote the "rank" of the wearer. They were Bronze, Silver and Gold. The silver finish on these brooches was very thin and prone to wearing away over time. This example is one of those, as the silver wash on the front is gone, however the silver was is still present on the reverse of the brooch. This brooch is maker marked on the back with " J.B.u.C.o".
