Description
11/21/24 - This is a great example of a WW1 production US M1913 Cavalry sword. These swords were designed by U.S. General Patton before he became a famous US General. After competing as a fencer in the 1912 Olympic Games, Patton's skill led him to design a combat sword favoring thrusting attacks over standard slashing maneuvers. This sword is in great overall condition . The sword blade is US stamped with an eagle head proof underneath, and the reverse is maker stamped and 1918 dated. The blade shows some areas of dark patina. The edges show no signs of sharpening nor any misuse blemishes. The hand guard and handle are in great condition with some spotty, mild discoloration. The scabbard of this sword is also in great condition.Specifications
