11/8/24 - This is a great example of a factory made WW2 type 98 Japanese Officer's sword. The blade on this sword is in excellent condition, with a strong visible temper line (Hamon) and it's original edge. The blade edge does have some minor knicks. The scabbard is the standard metal and painted construction for the type 98. The scabbard maintains almost all of its original paint with a some nicks and chips in some areas. Additionally, there are some small dents in the scabbard, but these dents are superficial and do not effect the function of the scabbard.
