11/9/22 - This is an excellent example of an original, rare Japanese paratrooper bayonet with original scabbard and frog from WW2. The blade is in beautiful condition retaining a majority of its blued finish, there is virtually no finish loss/thinning except small areas close to the blade's edge. The hilt is in excellent condition. The metal has retained virtually all of its original blued finish and the wooden grips are in great shape. There is minor signs of wear in the wood of the grips, most notable a few dings in the left-hand grip. The spine of the hilt is maker marked by the Nagoya Arsenal and the pommel is serial numbered "7169". The original frog is in great condition with minor signs of wear throughout. There is some discoloration across the scabbard holster / front of the frog and the back of the frog. The stitching is strong and intact throughout. The scabbard is in excellent condition retaining its original blued finish throughout. There are small patches of pitting toward the tip of the scabbard as shown.Specifications
