Description
12/12/24 - This is a excellent example of a very rare MC-1 Scope Mount made for the USMC by Griffin & Howe. These mounts were meant for the 4x Kollmorgen scope, this scope was adopted by the Marine Corps. after their dissatisfaction with the smaller tubed scope the Army used. The MC-1 scope & mount were adopted by the Marine Corps in 1952 for use on the MC1952 Garand rifle. These rifles were not delivered to the Marines in time for the Korean War and were kept in inventory. There is a change that limited numbers of these rifles saw use in the early days of the Vietnam War. This particular example is a type 2, which would have been produced after 1953. This mount is in excellent condition and maintains almost all of its original finish, with only minor finish loss on the high edges. The mount is stamped with the contract number, as well as the name of the manufacturer and U.S., as seen in the photos.Specifications
