SOLD - 1935 Polish Army Radom Wz 29 Rifle - Nazi Rework

6/19/23 - This is a F.B. Radom Wz. 29 rifle manufactured for the Polish Army in 1935. Since Poland was invaded by Germany in 1939, and the Polish weapons factories were quickly re-tooled for Nazi use. This example is a typical Nazi re-work, with mostly original Polish Radom parts, but a few renumbered parts and changes found in the German fashion. The bolt stem and cocking piece have been renumbered (with a Nazi proof found on the cocking piece) and the base plate shows evidence of renumbering as well. The stock has a removed lower sling swivel from the front barrel band, as well as a removed sling swivel assembly at the bottom of the buttstock, with an inserted wood peg to fill this void. This example is in about 92-95% overall condition, with the majority of the wear being found on the butt plate. The bolt shows some mild handling and use wear, with areas of light surface patina and finish loss. The receiver is excellent. There is edge wear and light surface patina mixed within the finish on the barrel bands, trigger, trigger guard, and barrel. All numbered parts match, except for one screw in the floorplate, which is stamped "56" instead of "13". The stock is in great condition, but the metal disc on the right side of the stock that holds the recoil lug is missing. This doesn't affect functionality as far as we can tell (the stock bolt seems secure / doesn't budge), but is worth noting (close up shown in photos). The stock otherwise has a few typical surface dings and bumps from age. There is a small "D2" proof stamp on the right side of the buttstock. The bore is in near-excellent condition: shiny with strong rifling and some traces of patina and use wear within the grooves.
