Description

9/16/21 - This is a very nice example of a JP Sauer K98 rifle issued to the Nazi military in 1943. It is all matching, has the proper waffen military proofs throughout, and features the Sauer "CE 43" factory code on the receiver. The stock has no visible numbers but looks like it has an extremely faint waffen eagle H proof on the right side of the butt stock. The receiver area and rear barrel band have lost most of their finish. The barrel, front band, floor plate, and trigger group have most of their finish. There is minor wear around the muzzle and spotty oxidation throughout. Light brown patina throughout. The stock is nice but has some light scratches here and there. It was likely lightly sanded. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with spotty oxidation and minor pitting throughout.
