Description

11/19/21 - This is a nice example of a rare Baby Nambu pistol manufactured in the Tokyo Arsenal in the 1910's. The Baby Nambu was developed as a personal weapon for high ranking Japanese officers and only about 6,500 were made in total. Considered by collectors to be one of the most beautiful handguns made in pre-war Japan, it featured ornamental knurling on the cocking knob and high quality “rust” blue, that rivaled European handguns of the era. This particular example is all matching and has retained about 94% of its original finish. There is very minor finish loss on the top of the chamber and on the round edges of both sides of the slide. While there isn't much actual finish loss, there is noticeable spotty oxidation throughout. It is most noticeable on the grip straps, barrel, and on the frame near the round edges. There is also noticeable pitting in the same areas. Comes with nice original matching-numbered grips - a few small bruises here and there. It also comes with a mismatched period-correct magazine. The rifling is a little worn, but the bore is very shiny.
