Description

10/26/21 - This is a nice example of a rare CZ 46, a P.38 put-together from leftover Nazi parts and reworked by the Czechs in 1946. This one is all matching, has the proper Czech lion proofs, and a proper Czech "E" proof on the left side of the frame. The frame was made by Spreewerk and has an "Eagle 88" proof on the left side. The slide was made by Walther - the "AC 45" factory code and "Eagle 359" military proofs are very faint as it appears the slide has been buffed. The barrel was made by Walther and has an "Eagle 359" proof. The gun has lost most of its finish, retaining only roughly 25% of its bluing. There is finish loss throughout, but it is most noticeable on the whole slide and front strap. The barrel and frame have retained a decent amount of their finish. There is some light scratchy wear on the top of the barrel through the ejection port. There is spotty oxidation and some areas of minor pitting on the slide (most apparent on the left side). Comes with excellent bakelite grips and an un-marked magazine with pitting throughout. The bore has good rifling with minor frosting throughout. The de-cocker is not functional.
