Description
12/9/21 - This is an excellent example of a Finnish Mosin Nagant issued to the Finnish Civil Guard, most likely in the late 1920's. The M28 was an improvement over the Mosin M81 - it featured a shortened barrel, changed depth of pitch, improved trigger, and changed stock. The M28 served the Finnish Civil Guard through WW2 and were even used to train recruits in the 1950's. This one has a nice original one-piece stock with a faint "SYT" proof in the left finger groove - the Finnish Civil guard acceptance proof. The finish is mostly intact but has turned a blue-brown patina in some areas, consistent with a combat-used gun. The barrel was made by sig. The receiver has a proper Finnish Guard "SY" marking. The serial number on the right side of the receiver was lined out, and the left side was given a new serial number. The bolt matches the new serial number. Comes with a green canvas sling and cleaning rod. Import mark on the left side of the barrel. The bore has good rifling with minor pin-pricking throughout.Specifications
