Description

1/25/22 - This is a very nice example of a Dutch-contract FN Browning Model 1922 rig. Between 1926 and May of 1940, nearly 60,000 FN Browning M1922 pistols were shipped to the Netherlands and designated Pistool M25 No.2 by the Koninklijke Landmacht. These pistols feature a large Crown/W proof on the slide for Queen Wilhelmina. While 60,000 would suggest a somewhat common pistol, the survival rate on these is relatively low as we only receive one or two per year. This one is all matching and has the proper Belgian proofs. It comes as a rig with one original matching-numbered magazine, numbered cleaning rod (not matching), and a proper Dutch holster (not numbered). The gun also comes with a signed not from the American GI who captured the gun at the end of WW2. The gun has retained about 90% of its original finish. Most of the wear is around the muzzle, but there is also minor wear on the high edges of the slide and on the tang. Very minor freckling on both grip straps. Comes with nice period-correct grips - some tiny bore holes here and there. The bore is minty.
