Description
1/20/22 - This is a very nice example of a Rock Island Model 1903 rifle. The gun has a very early receiver, dating to 1906. The gun was then reworked and re-issued for use during WW2. The barrel was replaced. It is Springfield-marked and dated March of 1942. There appears to be an arsenal marking on the left side of the wood stock near the wrist. "P" proof on the underside of the wrist. Overall, the gun is in very nice condition. There is minor scratchy wear on the front sight and minor wear on the underside of the trigger guard. Brown patina on the floor plate. Some light handling marks on the front screw of the trigger group. There is splotchy discoloration in the finish on the receiver, barrel, and front barrel band. The stock is nice with only minor dings, bruises, and scratches here and there. The bore is shiny with strong rifling.Specifications
