SOLD - 1916 DWM Gewehr 98 (6917e - 19047)

Description

3/3/22 - This is a nice example of a DWM Gewehr 98 rifle issued to the Imperial German military in 1916. The gun is mostly matching (including floor plate, butt plate, and stock), but the following parts are mismatched - bolt release, rear barrel band, and rear sight. No import marks. It has the proper Imperial German military acceptance proofs throughout. Overall, the gun is in nice condition. the majority of the finish loss is on the receiver, bolt, floor plate, and trigger group, where there are tiny dots of oxidation throughout. Not much finish loss on the barrel, except for some minor muzzle wear. Noticeable brown patina on the barrel bands. Spotty oxidation and minor pitting on the butt plate. The stock is nice, but there are noticeable dings, bruises, and light scratches throughout. There is one area of spotty oxidation around the muzzle end of the bore, otherwise it would be mint. The screw in the bolt release was likely replaced.
