Description
07/16/26 - For sale is a Winchester Model 1897 Takedown made in 1911. The shotgun was converted to a trench configuration by a prior owner. The metal retains an old, polished bluing with bare metal showing through. Some old touch-up of cold blue on the edges. There are many patches of surface oxidation. The bore is bright, but there are many patches of surface corrosion throughout. The stock and bump are in great shape without any cracks or breaks. The barrel and receiver are stamped with the Flaming Bomb. The bore was converted from a Full choke to a cylinder. A large US stamp was also added above the receiver flaming bomb. We do not believe these Martial stamps to be legitimate. The bomb stamps are similar to those seen on Remington during WW2. The US stamp is not the correct font & size when marked.
