Description
10/20/26 - This is a Roth-Steyr Model 1907 manufactured in Budapest in 1912, as indicated by the "Fegyvergyár Budapest" barrel legend. Adopted by the Austro-Hungarian cavalry in 1907, the Roth-Steyr was one of the first self-loading pistols adopted by a major military power, with an unusual rotating-barrel, striker-fired design and a fixed magazine loaded from the top with a stripper clip. It is matching with the proper Austro-Hungarian military proof at the back of the frame, and the right grip disc is unit-marked "64 R 10." The finish rates somewhere between 85 and 90%. While there is not a ton of actual finish loss, there is obvious spotty oxidation and heavy patina on the majority of the gun, along with general high edge wear and wear along the rounded edges of the slide. Fitted with very nice period-correct wood grips, and comes with one full stripper clip of ammunition. The bore is 8/10, with good rifling and very light pinpricking throughout.
