Description
9/23/25 - This pistol has an interesting life cycle. It started in 1916 as a luger manufactured by the state arsenal in Erfurt. After WW1, it was accepted into the Reichswehr indicated by the '1920' stamping. Later on, it was reworked by the Simson firm, as seen by the replaced and matching numbered toggle mechanism. All of the numbered parts are matching. There are no indications of police service, so this gun possibly went into Army service, although this is also the very type of pistol that would have seen use by the SS, since they drew on older arms stores until the early 1940's. Retains about 90-92% of the original finish with general high edge wear, muzzle wear, an area of wear on the left side of the barrel, and some light spotty wear on the grip straps. Excellent WW1 era wood bottomed magazine is not matching to the gun. The bore shows noticeable frosting and freckling in the grooves. The hold-open does not work properly with this magazine.
