Description
3/1/22 - This is a nice example of a Springfield M1 Garand. The serial number on the receiver dates it to June of 1944. The gun was at least partially reworked after the war, as evidenced by the replacement barrel. The barrel was made by Harrington & Richardson and is dated January of 1953. This was likely done for use in the Korean War. The stock is un-marked except for an extremely faint cross-canon cartouche on the underside near the wrist. Overall, the gun is in nice condition. However, there is generally wear around most of the high edges, some thinning and light brown patina on the receiver, and noticeable finish loss on the barrel and gas cylinder. The stock has noticeable dings, scratches, and small gouges throughout. Very nice bore with good rifling. Muzzle reading: 2.5. Throat reading: 2.Specifications
