Description
10/5/26 - This is a Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army pistol, originally issued to the US military in 1918. It was later reworked after WWI, most likely for re-issue during WW2, and wears an arsenal-applied parkerized finish. There are no arsenal markings, but it carries the proper WWI-era "Eagle Head S18" military acceptance proof on the left side of the frame. The slide and frame are both Colt, and the barrel is a more modern replacement. Fitted with WW2-era reddish plastic grips and comes with an unmarked magazine. While there is very little actual finish loss, there are areas of noticeable heavy pitting throughout, most obvious on both sides of the slide. Like-new bore. An honest WWI Colt that served on into the WW2 era.
