Description
10/20/26 - This is a nice example of a Colt Woodsman, manufactured in 1931 and chambered in .22 LR. Designed by John Browning and introduced by Colt in 1915 as the Colt .22 Automatic Target Pistol, it took on "The Woodsman" name in 1927 and went on to become one of the most popular sporting and target .22 pistols of its day. It has retained somewhere between 85% and 90% of its original bluing. The vast majority of the finish loss is on the front strap, and there is some brown patina, pin-pricking and a couple of spots of wear on the back strap. There are a few dings at the back edge of the slide and frame, general high edge wear and muzzle wear, and some noticeable scratches and marks on the top of the slide. Fitted with excellent checkered wood grips. Comes with two magazines, one marked "Colt Cal .22 Long Rifle" and one unmarked. Minty bore, 9.5/10.
