Description
10/20/26 - This is a nice example of a pre-war Colt Woodsman, manufactured in 1941 and chambered in .22 LR, one of the last commercial Woodsmans made before America entered WWII. Designed by John Browning and introduced by Colt in 1915 as the Colt .22 Automatic Target Pistol, it took on "The Woodsman" name in 1927 and went on to become one of the most popular sporting and target .22 pistols of its day. It has retained somewhere between 85% and 90% of its original bluing. There is spotty, scratchy wear along both sides of the barrel, more noticeable on the left side, along with muzzle wear, general high edge wear, some marks and scratches on the front strap, a small area of wear at the base of the back strap, and a few small dings at the back edge of the slide and frame. Fitted with nice period-correct checkered wood grips with minor bruising on both sides. Comes with three magazines, one of which is marked "Colt Woodsman Cal .22 Long Rifle." Minty bore, 9.5/10.
