Description

10/14/26 - This is a Mauser Luger issued to the Nazi military in 1936. After Mauser Oberndorf took over P.08 production from DWM in the early 1930s, its Lugers were marked with the secret "S/42" code on the toggle to conceal the maker's identity as Germany quietly rearmed. Pre-war Mauser Lugers like this one were built with the same care and fit as the commercial guns, and the 1936 chamber date places it squarely in those rearmament years, before wartime production shortcuts set in. All matching with the proper "Eagle 63" military acceptance proofs on the right side of the receiver. The finish is roughly 80-85%, with the majority of the loss on the grip straps, along with general high edge and muzzle wear and some small spots of oxidation in those same areas. The strawed small parts still show nicely. Fitted with excellent unnumbered wood grips. Includes an S/42 marked magazine with aluminum base. Excellent shiny bore with strong rifling, 9/10.
