Description

6/9/22 - This is a Mauser-made Gewehr 98 from 1918. It ended up with the Turks, as evidenced by the Turkish crescent moon markings on the receiver, bolt handle, and bolt body. There are Czech CZ markings on the bolt as well. The gun is mostly mismatched with a faint import mark on the left side of the receiver. There isn't much actual finish loss, but there is heavy brown patina and spotty oxidation covering all of the metal parts. Noticeable pitting on the barrel bands. No major damage to the stock, but it is scuffed throughout. The edges of the butt plate do not match up perfectly with the edges of the butt stock. The bore has decent rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout.
