SOLD - Rare DWM Double Date Police Luger - Matching Magazine (1320a - 21004)

Description

7/5/22 - This is an excellent example of a rare 1920/1920 double-date DWM Luger. The first "1920" (closest to the ejection port) indicates the date of manufacture, 1920. The second "1920" (closest to the muzzle) is a government property marking. Due to restrictions under the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was only allowed to have a certain amount of guns in military and police service. This marking indicates it was ear-marked for government service. This particular gun was issued to the German police force in 1920. It has an added police sear safety, Weimar-era police eagle markings on the right side of the slide, a police unit marking on the front strap, and comes with one matching police arsenal-numbered magazine. The magazine is Haenel-made and has a Nazi-era police Eagle L marking on it. The gun itself is all matching and has retained about 96% of its finish. There are areas of minor wear on the side plate, side rails, on around the chamber, around the muzzle, and at the base of the front strap. Light freckling on both grip straps. Areas with tiny pits on the side plate and around the chamber. Comes with very nice un-numbered wood grips. The bore has good rifling, but there is light freckling throughout.
