Description

7/26/22 - This is a very nice example of a BYF 43 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1943. All numbered parts are matching, but the hammer is "Eagle 359" proofed and was made by Walther. It has the proper "Eagle 135" military acceptance proofs throughout. There is an asterisk marking on the left side of the frame, indicating it failed initial inspection and was sent back to the factory for repair. It comes as a rig with a pretty nice 1944-dated pebblegrain holster, one period-correct Walther magazine, and one un-marked magazine. The gun itself has a dark finish, so believe it has been "dipped". There is very little actual finish loss with just a hint of wear around the muzzle and some very light handling marks here and there. Comes with excellent bakelite grips. Very nice bore with good rifling. The de-cocker is not functional.
