Description
9/21/22 - This 1940 dated Mauser Luger has the rare, reddish Krieghoff grips on it. A very small set of 1940 lugers have these grips on them from the factory. It is assumed that they experimented with the HK grips as an option before they started making their own black plastic grips. These grips are found in the G to K blocks, so the H block is right in the middle of this group of 1940 Lugers. This one is all matching except for the hold open. The rear toggle pin is un-numbered. It has a "42" Mauser factory code and has the proper "Eagle 655" military acceptance proofs. This is a beautiful looking gun, but we believe it has been professionally restored with very little finish loss. There is just very minor muzzle wear and hints of wear on some of the high edges. A few light handling marks and tiny scratches on the front strap, left side of the frame, and on the side plate. The grips are excellent. Comes with a mismatched magazine. The bore has decent rifling with minor pitting throughout.Specifications
