Description
11/29/22 - This is a rare Springfield Armory Model 1911 issued to the US military during WW1. It is "United States Property" marked, has the proper Springfield Eagle on the right side of the slide, and has flaming bomb military acceptance proofs. Most of the small parts are properly "S" marked, and it has a correct Springfield barrel. The gun has retained roughly 75% of its original finish. There is obvious finish loss around the muzzle and along the slide, concentrated mostly around the high edges. The most noticeable sign of wear, however, are areas of splotchy discoloration and minor pitting on both sides of the slide and on the grip straps. Comes with slightly worn period-correct wood grips and a proper two-tone magazine with a lanyard loop on the bottom. The bore has good rifling with very minor frosting throughout.Specifications
