Description
11/29/22 - This is a very nice example of a rare Springfield Armory Model 1911 issued to the US military during WW1. It is "United States Property" marked, has the proper Springfield Eagle on the right side of the slide, and has flaming bomb military acceptance proofs. Most of the small parts are properly "S" marked, and it has a correct Springfield barrel. The slide release and barrel bushing are un-marked. The gun has retained roughly 75% of its original finish. There are areas of obvious spotty finish loss around the muzzle and along the slide, concentrated mostly around the high edges. There is also spotty wear on the front strap and obvious finish loss on the back strap. Comes with fairly nice period-correct wood grips and a proper two-tone magazine with a lanyard loop on the bottom. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with minor pitting throughout.Specifications
