Description
12/6/22 - This pistol has an interesting history. It was initially issued to the Nazi police force in 1939. It has the proper police "Eagle L" proof (now stamped-over) and a Mauser banner logo on the toggle. You can see there was a police sear safety that has since been removed. After WW2, it was likely reworked and issued to the East German police. These are often known as "VoPo" Lugers. This one is all matching except for the rear toggle pin and firing pin. There are East German sunburst police markings throughout and an East German police unit marking on the front strap. At the police arsenal, the gun was refinished, given a set of post war grips, and given a post-war matching-numbered magazine. It has retained virtually all of its new bluing with some areas of minor pin-pricking under the finish here and there, most noticeable on the grip straps. The bore has great rifling, but there areas of pin-pricking here and there, especially around the muzzle end.Specifications
