SOLD - End-of-WW2 GI Mismatched Walther P.38 - Rare FN Frame (2501c - 23342)

Description

1/13/23 - This is a very nice example of an AC 45 Walther P.38 made at the very end of WW2. This is a GI mismatched gun, put together by an American GI when the Walther factory was liberated. The barrel and frame match each other, but the slide is mismatched and in the proper "c" serial block, correct for this variation. The locking block is not numbered but is "Eagle 359" proofed. It also only has one "Eagle 359" military acceptance proof on the right side of the slide, indicating it was never issued. It has a mixture of phosphate and blued parts and has a late-war cog-style hammer. This one also has a rare "Eagle 140" marked frame, indicating it was manufactured at the FN factory. This particular gun has retained about 94% of its original finish. There is thinning on the front strap, very minor wear around the muzzle, and light, somewhat spotty wear on both sides of the slide. Fitted with nice black bakelite grips (hairline crack on the left side) and comes with a jvd magazine. The bore is mint. De-cocker does not function properly.
