Description
3/1/23 - This is a nice example of an Erfurt Luger from 1917. It was originally issued to the Imperial German military as evidenced by the Imperial military acceptance proofs on the right side of the slide. Erfurt proofs throughout. It was later reworked and issued to the German police force, as evidenced by the added police sear safety. The gun has retained about 96% of its original finish with minor wear on the front strap, around the muzzle, on the side plate, and on the front edges of the side rails. While there isn't much actual finish loss, there are areas of light spotty oxidation throughout and some tiny pits here and there, most obvious around the side plate. Fitted with wood grips. The left panel is numbered and matching but has a thin repaired crack. The right side is a replacement. Comes with a mismatched police-numbered magazine - repaired crack in the wood base. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with pin-pricking throughout.Specifications
