Description

4/27/23 - This is a nice example of a Mauser Gewehr 98 rifle issued to the Imperial German military in 1916. This one is completely matching (including the wood stock), has the proper Imperial proofs throughout, and has no import marks. It has lost the majority of its original bluing with obvious wear and spotty oxidation throughout. The stock was duffle-cut around the rear sight, but it has been professionally repaired. Other than that, the stock is very nice with only minor dings and bruises here and there. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is light spotty oxidation and pin-pricking throughout. Firing pin has been clipped.
