4/27/23 - This is a nice example of a Springfield Krag Model 1896. The military cartouche and date on the stock is light (the stock was likely very lightly sanded), but it is dated 1897 (making it an antique). Overall, the gun is in nice condition, but there is noticeable finish loss on the barrel bands and trigger guard, and there is spotty discoloration on the magazine and left side of the receiver. Some light scratches and handling marks along the barrel. Some minor pitting along the top of the receiver. Excellent wood stock with only minor scratches here and there. The bore has decent rifling, but there is minor pitting throughout. It looks like the front sight blade was replaced.
