Description

4/7/23 - This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US military in 1918. It is "United States Property" marked and has the correct "Eagle Head S14" military acceptance proof. Correct "H P" barrel. It comes as a rig with a 1918-dated G&K black leather holster and one period-correct two tone magazine. We believe the gun itself has an old re-blued finish - there are some areas of pin-pricking visible under the bluing. There is significant finish loss on the front strap, where around the muzzle, and obvious wear concentrated around the high edges of the slide. Nice period-correct wood grips. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
