Description
7/10/23 - This is a very nice example of a Springfield Model 1903 issued to the US military during WW1. The receiver dates to 1918. The barrel is also Springfield marked and dates to June of 1918. The left side of the wood stock has "JFC" inspection initials and what looks like an arsenal rework stamp. The metal parts have retained 80% of their finish. The majority of the wear is around the muzzle and along the barrel. Scratchy wear on the front barrel band. Obvious finish loss and brown patina on the floor plate and trigger guard. No major damage to the wood furniture, but there are minor scratches and bruises throughout. Comes with a nice leather sling. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is some spotty surface oxidation around the muzzle end.Specifications
