6/13/23 - This is a nice example of an original Springfield Model 1899 Krag Carbine issued to the US military in 1899. This particular gun is the accepted Krag carbine serial range, 222609-362256. It is "US" Property and has an 1899-dated military cartouche on the stock. Original saddle ring is intact. Comes with a period-correct leather saddle scabbard with reproduction leather straps. The metal parts on the gun have retained only roughly 40% of their finish. The majority of the remaining blue is on the barrel. Areas of light spotty oxidation on most of the parts. Very nice wood furniture with only minor dings and bruises. The rifling in the bore is fairly worn with minor pitting in the grooves.
