8/4/23 - This is a nice example of an original Springfield Model 1899 Krag Carbine issued to the US military in 1900. This particular gun is the accepted Krag carbine serial range, 222609-362256. It is "US" Property and has an 1900-dated military cartouche on the stock. The metal parts have most of their original finish with obvious thinning throughout and minor discoloration on the receiver. Areas of spotty oxidation here and there, heaviest around the front sight. No major damage to the wood stock, just the typical signs of wear. There are some initials stamped into the left side " SJC HULSE". Excellent shiny bore with great rifling and just some minor fouling in the grooves.
