Description

4/11/24 - This is a Nepalese-issued Martini-Henry Mk IV chambered in .577/450. These rifles were transferred from British Royal Arsenals to the Nepalese and then later imported into the US. The right side of the receiver is marked with a crown, "Enfield 1887, IV. 1." The rifle has British proof stamps marked throughout, and below the rear sight is stamped N.S. NEP to signify it was transferred to the Nepalese. Nepalese markings on the right side of the butt stock as well as on the bayonet scabbard. The bayonet itself is marked "Wilkinson Sword Company London". Most of the finish loss on the metal parts is on the lever, on the underside of the receiver, and on the barrel bands. Some light surface rust here and there, most noticeable around the muzzle and on the bayonet handle. Nice wood overall, but there are a few small chips and gouges. The bore has minor surface rust throughout.
