Description

6/7/24 - This is a nice example of a US Army S&W Model 1917 revolver from WWI. It is "United States Property" marked and has "Eagle Head S34" and flaming bomb military acceptance proofs. The barrel is mismatched. The gun's finish rates roughly 70% with obvious finish loss and brown patina concentrated mostly on the grip straps and along the barrel. Fitted with period-correct wood grips - the right side is numbered but mismatched. The bore has good rifling, but there is light pin-pricking throughout.
