Description
8/23/24 - This is a beautiful, near-mint example of a M1921 Mauser "Bolo", manufactured in the late 1920's. The Treaty of Versailles, signed in 1919, imposed restrictions on pistol barrel lengths and calibers on German arms manufacturers. Mauser began manufacturing a compliant version of the C96 for commercial sale with shorter, 3.9 inch barrel. This one is all matching and "Double Crown U" proofed. There is what looks like some sort of unit number on the front strap. It has retained nearly all of its original bluing with just hints of high edge wear and a few tiny marks on the front edge of the frame. Excellent fire-bluing on the small parts. Fitted with minty matching-numbered wood grips. The bore is mostly shiny with strong rifling, but there are some areas of minor freckling in the grooves. This is from the Robert Saltsman Collection.Specifications
