Description
9/30/24 - This is a super rare Walther Model 6, one of only 1,000 produced. The Model 6 was an attempt by Walther to develop a service pistol for the armed forces in the standard military caliber of 9mm Luger. The design was refused due to weak mechanics, so very few were ever military accepted. Some officers did buy their own model 6 on the commercial market, and carried them as their service pistol. This particular example is all original and matching. "Germany" export marking on the left side of the slide. The consignor told us this gun was owned by Warren Buxton, premier Walther collector and author in the US. It was auctioned in 2017, along with Buxton's entire collection by James Julia in Maine. Its original finish rates about 90% with muzzle and general high edge wear. Areas of very light spotty patina throughout with tiny dings and scratches. Fitted with period-correct grips and comes with one magazine. Very nice bore with good rifling.Specifications
