Description
10/9/24 - This is a Spanish Echave y Arizmendi (EA) 1916 Model Automatic Vest Pocket Pistol. Made in Eibar, Spain. This is classified as a ÄúRubyÄù type pistol. ÄúRubyÄù was originally a tradename of Gabilondo & Co., later makers of the Llama handguns. In 1916, during WWI, France was in desperate need of pistols and contracted with Gabilondo to make the gun in large quantities. They didn't have the capacity, so they engaged some 50 other Spanish companies to make basically the same gun. EA was one of those companies and they produced this pistol. Not much information is available on this company or the pistols that were made. This one has has hard black rubber checkered grips with a raging bull imprint and no flat spots. The right oval is chipped but the rest of the grips are in very good condition. The gun's finish rates roughly 90% with general high edge wear and some areas of thinning. We believe much of the finish has been touched up with cold-blue. The bore has decent rifling but shows minor pitting throughout.Specifications
