Description
2/24/25 - This is a very rare Canadian Inglis High Power No 2 Mk 1, one of only 500 that went to the New Zealand government in the 1960's. According to the "Inglis Diamond" book by Clive Law, "Some New Zealand pistols display the letter 'M' probably standing for 'Modified', added as a suffix to the serial number, either in all three locations, (slide, fame and barrel,) or just on the barrel. This came about as a result of a request from the 1st Squadron of the New Zealand Special Air Service (1NZSAS) in June, 1982 for authority to modify their pistols by removing the magazine safety." Also from the book, "It appears that the entire shipment was made up of No2 (fixed rear sight type) pistols. Observed serial numbers have been mostly in the 8T and 9T series." This one is matching and has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its finish with general high edge wear. Fitted with period-correct black bakelite grips and comes with a proper "JI" marked Inglis magazine. Excellent bore.Specifications
