Description

4/10/25 - This is a scarce, early example of an Argentine Colt Model 1927. This pistol was part of a special order of only 10,000 that were produced by Colt in Hartford, Connecticut before production was transferred to Argentina. In the 1920s, Argentina was preparing for a military modernization program with a domestic arms industry, but first negotiated a contract with Colt for 1911A1s that have a specialized serial numbering with the Argentine crest on the slide. It has all matching serial numbered components, a matching mag, and all the small parts have the “RA” inspector mark of the Argentine inspector who was located at the Colt plant when these were made. The holster is also unique being of German manufacture. The gun's original finish rates roughly 65-70% with honest spotty wear throughout. The grips are replacements of the Ballester style, no doubt from its time in Argentina. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout.
