Description
5/8/25 - This is a very rare Belgian Armand Gavage, manufactured during the German occupation. It is in the correct serial range but does not bear German test proofs, only Belgian proofs. From Jan Still's "Axis Pistiols": "The Armand Gavage was manufactured in Belgium before World War II and its manufacture continued during the German occupation. While test proofed by the German Army, they do not bear German acceptance stamps. Reported: 19 in the serial range 122 to 4612; 13 of these bear the test proof. Most of the remainder bear Belgian markings and proofs. It is estimated that about 1,500 bear German Army test proofs and were utilized by the occupying Germans." This one is all matching, and we believe it has been refinished. Minor wear around the muzzle, wear on the front strap, and dulling on the back strap. Fitted with period-correct black bakelite grips and comes with one magazine. Nice bore with good rifling.Specifications
