Description
5/6/25 - Part of the very first luger contract sent to the German Army in 1909. This luger was assigned to the 79th Infantry Regiment from Hannover during WW1 as indicated by the stamping on the grip-strap. It continued service into the Weimar era and then at some point during the Nazi era it was sent to Spandau for refitting as indicated by the 'SU4' proof. The side plate and takedown lever were numbered leaving the old original serial numbers on the bottom. The grips are correctly numbered as well as the rear toggle pin. The front toggle was renumbered to match. The firing pin was replaced, and the old number was lined out. All correctly matching except the replaced firing pin and the un-numbered FXO magazine. Bore shows some frosting, but very strong rifling. A good example of a luger that saw service in two wars and was likely returned by an American GI. There isn't much actual bluing loss, but there are areas of pin-pricking mostly on the side plate and grip straps. The rifling in the bore is a slightly worn with light pin-pricking throughout.Specifications
