Description
8/1/25 - This is a Smith & Wesson Victory Model from World War II. It is U.S. Property marked and G.H.D (Guy H. Drewry) inspector marked. Made from 1942 to 1944. All had a V prefix. There were a little over a half million made. They were standard issued side arms for US Navy and Marine air crews due to their size and ease of operation. This one has a rarer 5 inch barrel. These were thought to have been shipping to the British forces. It is chambered in .38 S&W, rather than the .38 special that the U.S. military used. This one has retained about 98% of its original parkerized finish. Just hints of wear on some of the high edges, a light roll mark on the cylinder, and some tiny handling marks here and there. Some dark discoloration on the left side of the frame near the grip. Very nice case-hardening on the hammer and trigger. The right grip is numbered but matching to the gun. The bore is like new. The cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth.
