Description
10/14/26 - This is a Smith & Wesson .38 Military & Police Hand Ejector revolver with a 4" barrel, chambered in .38 Special. Its serial number falls in the range of the Model of 1902 First Change, which dates the frame to about 1904, but it has the features of a later Model of 1905 Fourth Change, including patent dates through 1914 on the barrel, a "MADE IN U.S.A." frame marking and Magna-style grips with S&W medallions. This suggests it was likely returned to the factory and updated later in its life. It is all matching and has retained about 85% of its high polish bluing. The majority of the wear is on the back strap, top strap and both sides of the barrel toward the muzzle. There are a few marks and scratches here and there, along with an area of light flaking in the finish on the right side of the frame. Case hardening on the hammer and trigger. Fitted with nice checkered walnut grips with just minor bruising. Minty bore, 9.5/10.
